Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate curriculum of RN-BSN program.

Method: The data was collected 2 times from Sep. 2004 to Nov. 2005. In order to get the data by self-questionnaire about entire response of curriculum, 114 subjects were participated to study. The instruments for this study were developed by a researcher.(Satisfaction Cronbach¡¯s ¥á=.702, Expected-accomplishment Cronbach¡¯s ¥á=.817) The dada were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, and pearson¡¯s correlation coefficient using SPSS 11.0 program.

Result: Perception of education objectives became generally known. Satisfaction of education content about nursing was approximately low. Education content of cultivate one¡¯s mind was almost high level. Foreign language and computer subject are needed for reinforcement area for curriculum. Duration of education was long enough, so that they wanted 1 year program. They were dissatisfied about lecture methods and lecture time generally. Clinical practice hours and credits of a lecture was dissatisfied. Entire evaluation of education came out dissatisfaction. And, they raised a problem of evaluation methods. But the students were generally satisfied about professors who teachers the subject. After RN-BSN program, internal self-satisfaction or self-worth was the highest part in expected-accomplishment. There were significant positive correlation in satisfaction of curriculum with expected accomplishment. (r=.351, p<.001).

Conclusion: This research suggested that entire reexamine of RN-BSN program is an urgent need. In particularly, major subjects and clinical practice are needed for reorganization of curriculum. And a flexible program in management methods of curriculum is required for the best effect.
